TRANSAXLE WITH 40 MILES...

USED - TRANSAXLE.
Sometimes you get an offer that you really can't believe, and this one I am passing on to you...

I got a call from a guy that claims he drove 4 brand new Lancia Beta Sedans 40 miles to the GM product development center. He couldn't remember the year, but thought it was in the late 1970s.
Ends up GM was very interested in the FWD package Lancia was selling, and wanted a few cars to put their V6 powertains into to see what they could do. So GM purchased 4 brand new Lancia Beta Sedans, USA versions, and had this guy drive them across town.
After GM pulled the drivetrains, he came back & picked them up. Or picked up some of the parts. Or something like that...

So, after he called me because he wanted to get the things out of his garage, we worked a deal. And sure enough the freight company delivered two crates with transaxles in them.
I pulled the dipsticks, the oil looks brand new, The gearboxes look like they have 40 miles of road grime on them. In the end it doesn't matter if he drove them straight over, or if he took his buddies on a drinking & fishing trip in the cars before he delivered them to GM & then took a cab home. These are the lowest mileage transaxles I have seen in close to 20 years...

Ends up Lancia 1800 USA transaxles have either a 14/61 or 14/59 final drive in them. I am not going to disassemble them to find out which one, so it's a grab bag as to what final drive you actually get...

Now, why would you care?

Ends up Lancia Beta transaxle parts are very had to find these days. So if yours needs bearing or syncros, both items almost impossible to find, these almost new transaxles are just the ticket.
And if you own a Lancia Scorpion, it's easy to swap the right side stub axle out for a flange...

Note that they are heavy, and shipping will not be cheap.
