FROM THE REBUILDER:
This is the style EGR that I have built several of. I put in new Nylon reinforced Buna Nitrile rubber diaphragm and go one better using a high temperature red silicon main shaft seal. I dress them up to look pretty good, and make sure that the metal to metal valve faces seal properly when shut. Often, they get coked up pretty full. I burn out the coke from the cast iron- and blast them clean. Re-electroplate the cage in Zinc. Clean up all threads. Some are more work than others. Each is its own case. I spend way too much time on all this stuff.
