AS ORIGINAL TOP FRAME

NEW - MADE AS ORIGINAL TOP FRAME. NOT THE COMMON INCORRECT FRAME OFTEN SEEN ON EBAY ON CARS!
I have confirmed the original Italians that built these cars must not have been taller than 5 feet, or they at least had a real short torso. There is no way I could sit in that car with the original top I borrowed kinda mounted. But it's funny that I do fit comfortably in the car the Jolly was made from. So I suspect the original roof height was done more for the looks & lines of the car, and not so you could actually drive one.
The top second bow as mounted in the picture is 36 inches off the front seat bottom. In the pictures my welding rod case is 36" tall. The frame is provided with lengths of rod for the legs so you can set your bow height to anything desired, from the original height of just above the windshield glass to 36 inches. If you want it taller just say so when ordering and I will cut the leg tubing longer.
When you fabricate the "legs" you may need to shape them, the ones in the picture are done on a tubing roller. Once you get the legs so they fit between the car & the frame you will need to weld them to the top frame in the front, and in the rear the hinges will need to be welded to the frame. After you get it welded, you will need to braze the front lower feet to the bottom of the tubes in the correct spots. In the rear you will need to braze the leg to the hinge, then braze the stop to the lower part of the leg. And braze the needed reinforcement into the hinge.
When you are done cleaning up from the brazing, a quick sand & painting (we suggest silver) will need to be done.
The two front release handles GH/TOPRELEASEN are included (chroming is included!), along with the two screws 5113 and some stainless rod.
Once the release handles are mounted you will need to bend the stainless rod so it affixes the front leg under slight tension, then get someone who does stainless welding to spot it for you. A quick polish of the stainless rod & you are done.
I can complete the custom fitting of this frame to your car to any height you want for an additional 5-7 hours of labor time.
