Hi Chris,

Firstly, thanks for the great tech tip on fitting a new top to a Fiat 124
Spyder. It was much better than the one in the factory manual :-)

I had a couple of queries if you have the time:

Step 21:
On the rear bow are two pieces of outside material that hang down.
Loosen, but do not remove, both top catches. Glue and wrap these pieces
of material around the rear bow. Then, reclose the catches.

Q: I have a tan top, after I wrap this material around the rear bow
should I see the tan colur or only the black interior ? I think I
should only see black interior, which means the material will go
under the bow and then wrap up and over it.
I would personally expect to see the tan material if I did the top installation! I have never tried it the other way, but if you can do it tight enough I see no reason why you could not try.

Step 22:
On the top of the quarter windows are material that also needs to be
glued down, ...

Q: What do they glue to (I don't have any cars to use as a reference :-(
My guess is they glue to the top of the quarter windows. Again,
should I see the tan colour on the inside ?
The metal frame surrounding the glass, and yes, I also would expect you to see tan.

As a suggestion, it might be good to add a bit more about fitting the side
wires. I used the section in the manual here on marking/cutting the top to
get access to the wire so it can be clipped into it's guides on the quarter
window. Step Seventeen touches on this.
???????? Installing the side wires is easy. If you are installing the top supplied by us I see no reason that cutting of the top is needed. My experience shows cutting the top to hook the wire on the metal tab on the convertible top frame (if it is still there) only causes premature failure of the new top material at that point.

Again, thanks, for the great how-to :-)

Cheers,
Davidm
