Do you know of any issues with replacing the 85 mph speedometers found in the 1979+ Spider 2000s with the 140 mph units that came with the 124s up to 1978?

I had thought they were a straight across plug-in, but I recently heard from a fellow who said: "The later style speedometers, 1979 and on, have push on connections on the back of the speedo while the earlier ones are screw on."

I have no idea what he's talking about. Can you shed some light on this?

Thanks,

Bob Yetter

I have no idea what he is talking about either. But, if you compare a 2-liter speedometer with an earlier unit you will see that the number of warning lamps in the speedometer is different, so unless you swap to complete earlier gauges (and an earlier dash to hold them), you will not have a factory oil pressure warning lamp!

Use the 4427193 1979 non-Canada 140 mph speedometer instead. It is a direct replacement for the 85 mph later 2-liter unit. I still have one in stock.

Thanks,
