Hi. I have a 1964 fiat 1500 cabriolet non-Osca and need to replace the headlight bulbs. I am wondering if you could tell me the designation/size of the replacement bulbs I will need. Also, what is the easiest way to replace them. I am guessing that the glass cover comes off to replace it but I haven't figured out how to get it off. Thanks for your time. You and your company are very helpful.

If your car is a USA version, you just replace the sealed beam which should be available from any auto parts store here in the states. If you cannot locate any, we stock them.

If your car is a European version, you need to pull the bulb assembly out of the backside of the reflector. I have never looked at this part of a European car, but I assume you can access it from inside the fender. If not, you will need to pull the reflector. Again, I assume the reflector comes out the same as a sealed beam would.

Unfortunately, I have no idea which bulb the European car takes! But I am sure I could find out what it might be from a lighting specialist I deal with frequently in Italy, and probably even special order some bulbs from him.

To remove a sealed beam, remove the headlamp chromed door, then loosen the three Phillips head screws that lock the beam retainer into its base, there is no need to fully remove them. Then rotate the retainer slightly till it comes off. The beam will fall forward - just pull the wires off the back.

Reassembly is the opposite, just make sure the beam seats in the appropriate notches. The retainer only goes on one way! Good luck!
