INCLUDES 1 EACH 883944, 883946, 965041, & 965042.
IN SET 1900107.
REPLACES 1109, 889646, 902071, 6107, 40628, 883944, 883946, 965041, 965042, 445-0180, SCO16, 07-1940 GA, 160520-9020, 016.08602, & 1605209020.
Suggested installation tips of 5882343 oil pan gasket set:
1. Clean everything. On steel oil pans confirm they at 100% flat on the sides, then slightly dimple the mounting thru holes towards the bolt heads. I use two hammers, one a small ball peen, and support the pan between my body and my metal work bench with the sealing surface supported on the work bench. I also seal the oil pan on the inside with red insulating varnish, unless I know the motor will be burning race gas.
2. Fit the end hoops into the oil pan & then trim ends with a sharp knife. Trim them so they protrude about the thickness of the knife blade, a bit thicker.
3. Wipe a very small amount of aviation gasket sealer across the joint where the block end covers meet the engine block. Only there, no where else.
4. Put a small dab of black silicone seal in the corners of the alloy front & rear covers, fit the long side gaskets so their ends are buried in the dabs.
5. Put a very small bead of silicone around the outer sides of the hoops fitted into the pan. Add a small dab on the surfaces where you trimmed the hoops.
6. Fit pan to block & tighten down progressively. DO NOT over tighten the bolts!
7. Smooth out with your wet finger any silicone that might have squirted out. If you used the correct amount there should be none.
8. Wait 24 hours before filling with oil & starting.
DANGER!!! I never approve the use of silicone sealer on 850 motors in any spot other than the areas described above. Use too much and the excess will end up in the oil pan, stuck on the oil pump pick up screen, and severe engine damage will result! But the advantage is I will get to sell you all the parts to rebuild your motor ;-))
Later FWD applications of these motors have studs fitted in the threaded holes next to the end hoops. This modification assists in getting everything aligned.
